It can sometimes stress a person out when they are about to move from one town to another. Packing everything in the house and making sure all affairs handled can sometimes be hard to do while balancing a job and a personal life. Before you do anything you're going to want to pack up your family's things. The amount of time it will take to pack will vary depending on the number of people in your house hold along with the number of items that each of you have. If you have a lot of material goods laying around, you will probably want to pack everything in advance so the last few days before the move won't be as stressful.

Make sure to get the correct amount of boxes that you'll need for the move. Measure everything out accordingly and try to get as many packing supplies as possible. Along with boxes you're going to need some tape, scissors, and gloves. You don't want to cut up your hands moving things around.

After you pack everything up and can give a good estimate of the number of trucks you will need, it is time to call the movers. Ask the company about their list of prices regarding interstate travel. The further they have to go, the more likely the price will increase. Usually movers will charge how much it costs their customers depending on the mileage and distance they have to travel.

Be sure to let the company know ahead of time when reserving your date. Sometimes movers might be fully reserved on certain dates or weekends. Usually you will have to pay less as well if you book ahead of time.

You should note on each box whether or not its contents are fragile. If you have things made of glass or are easily breakable you need to let the movers know ahead of time or else they might put the item in a dangerous location. You need to let them know so they can pack everything in the correct way.
