A Short Introduction To The Quiet City Of Airdrie

By Mike Johnson

Located just about six kilometers from the city of Calgary, Airdrie is one of the most in-demand communities in the entire country, boasting an enormous growth rate. The town has seen population increases of almost 8 percent per year for the past five years, making it unequivocally one of the fastest-growing towns in Canada. The city has a lot to recommend itself, including a wide array of amenities, a golf course, rodeo grounds, several recreational centers and a good selection of schools and educational institutions.

This city is in many ways a "bedroom community" or "suburb" of the larger city of Calgary, which makes it an appealing location for those interested in having total access to the large city and still retaining the comforts of a living in a small town.

Whether you're planning to move to this area, or are simply looking to invest in a constantly growing city, the homes in town generally show a tendency to appreciate in value over time. Furthermore the town shows no signs of slowing down, with new residential and commercial properties being built every season. All of this activity has led the Real Estate Investment Network to regard the town as being one of the top ten communities to invest in in the province of Alberta, a good stat regardless of whether you are looking to move there or invest.

All of the neighborhoods in town are relatively new, and perfect for young families or young professionals looking to take advantage of the opportunity of the big city while still having some autonomy and breathing space.

One of the city's most enjoyable areas is the Nose Creek Park, where people gather throughout the year for a variety of festivals including the Festival of Light and many others. It's festivals like these that serve to bring the community together, underlining once again that the small town has its own identity, and community pride, which all small Alberta towns are happy to have.
