By Mary Hayes

College is a time filled with all kinds of experiences, including studying at the library. But sometimes the library is crowded, and you want somewhere more private and quiet to study. That is why you should choose one of the Apartments Near Ohio University, so that you are near campus but have your own, private place to call your own for quiet and relaxation.

The great Ohio University was first chartered in 1787, and since then has been the home of hundreds of thousands of students through the years. It is located in Athens, OH and has made this city a true college town that is thriving. Generally, the University will house 36,000 students or more, which includes both full time, graduate, and part time students.

If you are a freshman and are living outside of your parents house for the first time ever, the convenience and community of a dorm seems like a good idea. They can be loud though and very expensive, so you may want to try and move out as soon as you can. If you need just a roof over your head, there are actually quite a few apartments you can find that have no furniture or amenities, but just the bare bones for your needs to stay on a budget.

Some people need cheap prices, but still need some amenities or furniture. This is especially true if you are not a local resident, because moving a sofa or bed across the country can be expensive and a big pain to boot. That is why many local complexes and buildings do have furnished units with a bed and sofa to go along with the appliances. You will still need to buy dishes and pots and pans and the like, but everything else is already there for you.

Some people want a more high end experience, and if this is you, look no further than the many luxury apartment buildings in the area. These range from one to three bedrooms, and have all the amenities you could possibly want, such as a gym on site, or laundry machines in the dwelling.

Beyond the apartment extras, you may also have other extras in the building. Some have public spaces like a lobby for guests or other spaces where you can meet fellow tenants and watch a movie or just say hello. If you want to throw a party and your place is not big enough for all the guests, you may have a clubhouse available.

Cash is sometimes in short supply with college students, so living alone may not be ideal. If you have one or more roommates, you can split costs to save some cash each month and make life easier. Look for a two, three, or even four bedroom apartment to help keep your overall cost of living down quite a bit.

Thankfully, many places are within walking distance of the school, so you can save even more money by not having to own a car. If you get a place further away, you can instead use public transportation. There are also many restaurants that are open late, book stores, and coffee houses nearby that are perfect for the student life.
