WWE Money in the Bank: Does a Collection Agency Play a Part?

By Rob Sutter

It's the goal of just about any wrestler to go after a championship and doing so can prove to be a challenge, to say the least. With many people wanting to prove that they are amongst the best in the business, there's a level of competition that comes in the job description. However, it's the one reason why people seem to tune in to World Wrestling Entertainment time and time again. There is one accolade where I think that a collection agency can play a part.

"Money in the Bank" is a yearly showcase that WWE has pitted in order to give someone an opportunity at greatness. Basically, usually six opponents face off in a ladder match and the prize above is a briefcase containing a contract for a world title. This is beneficial for the briefcase holder because it allows them the chance to wrestle for the belt in any instance. This can be done even if the champion competed and is too exhausted to defend his title to the utmost degree.

It seems like people have utilized this rule and won because they took advantage of it. Two wrestlers who managed to do this well were Edge and CM Punk, the latter of whom was the first winner of the match when it began. Not many wrestlers actually announce the event that they are going to cash in their opportunity at, which is pretty astounding all things considered. You have to wonder when the person is going to swipe in to steal the prize, an air of excitement present.

I don't think anyone can deny that it's hard to predict the results of these cash-ins, but what part would firms the likes of Rapid Recovery take on? Edge actually didn't win his second Money in the Bank briefcase until he beat the actual winner of the match for his contract. This allowed Edge to showcase his tactics, which were unhanded yet allowed him to secure another world title to add to his growing list of accomplishments. It's apparent that a collection agency, in theory, would be needed to attain what was lost.

With each risk that is taken in life, you can be certain that there's a reward for it. This is the idea of the Money in the Bank match, which has proven to be quite detrimental to one's health if someone is not careful about it. You want to be able to win the title but there's no guarantee that it will happen. However, said risk is easily worth the payoff, since how many others can possibly trump the allure that a world title possesses?
