Real estate encompasses the planning and development of different kinds of natural resources. For the smaller firms with a smaller financial base, pooling together of assets is way of meeting the financial obligations. The investors come together and form a group with the sole purpose of investment. The group is registered under different terms depending on the terms of application. Limited companies are registered under unique name for investment purposes. Investment trusts enables the companies to pool resources especially for expansion.

Acquiring the existing companies also provides avenue for most investors. There are special companies formed by the investors in the industry with an aim of being sold out to the willing parties. The firms set up are sold out at a profit once they have started making good profits. Acquisition companies buy such organizations; change their business structures in order to help them generate more revenue.

Getting listed in the stock markets and other forms of financial instruments markets offers a channel of raising more money. Listing also enables companies to expand beyond the existing markets. Once listed, the firms can float their shares. This helps in raising more funds which are in return used for expansion. In other cases, the firms use the returns form the markets to acquire other companies and later turn them around.

Population growth has fueled the growth in the property market. Increase in population as people move into the cities has created demand for more houses. The supply of such houses is done by the investors in the real estate industry.

The agents hired are in charge of looking after the renting and leasing of such houses. Some of them are rented, some leased under special conditions and others sold off to buyers.
