Should You Use A Realtor?

By Tiffany Nash

If you needed to get some work done on your teeth, would you do it yourself or would you go the dentist instead? The same theory applies to real estate. Something that takes years to perfect is the art of selling a home. There are so many aspects of home sales that the average buyers and sellers are unaware of. Then there are the many aspects of the process but these are only easily available to a Realtor. The actual process of selling a home is very time consuming and right about now, the seller has many more important things to consider, such as the impending move.

Spending years learning the art of selling is what Realtors do and as well as how to interpret the real estate market. They can offer you insight and information that only comes from years of experience. Realtors are also experts on their area; they know the communities and what they have to offer, the location of schools, transport routes, and how the current market will affect the sale of your home.

When you are selling your home, using a Realtor has several pros over an FSBO. Out of all these advantages, exposure is perhaps the most important.

The marketing of your home is of the highest importance. If you don't have a robust marketing plan, then it will take much longer to sell your home because it will not be seen by prospective buyers. The latest in Internet technology is what Realtors utilize to ensure that your home is seen by as many buyers as possible. A large budget is another thing Realtors have in order to purchase newspaper ads, create flyers and information packs about your property, and hold open houses. A CMA can also be utilized by Realtors to evaluate the correct value of your home and to correctly price it in your local market. With this, your home will become both attractive and competitive to buyers.

Remember that unlike homes sold by the owner, homes sold by a Realtor sell for an average of 20-30 thousand more. use a professional to sell your home, and free up the time you need to organize yourself for the process of moving your own new home.
