Moving to North Carolina from NYC is Not Too Difficult

By Laura Hawn

Friends of ours who were originally from NYC and who we met while visiting kin in North Carolina told us that they had all of their work sorted and had done searches for movers NYC and NYC movers well ahead of time as they knew there would be a lot of work to be done.

This couple, Mimi and Marvin, have four boys and wanted to be closer to them so they ended up moving to NC a year or so ago. We wondered how they'd do as the husband wasn't retired yet and was a chemist/inventor. They were able to find a much cheaper place to move into in North Carolina they told us, so they'd still be able to have thousands of bucks to put away for retirement purposes they felt.

But how will they like it where they're now living in North Carolina, we wondered. They said they love it and we noticed that both are now getting what sounds to be a southern "drawl."

I believe that is pretty easy to pick up once a person is surrounded and immersed in it. It was tough to believe that they were really from the NYC area to be honest, as they sure did not have a New York accent, we teased them. I said to the wife, Mimi, that my husband had a strong "drawl" when I married him, but because he ended up living in the north he currently speaks like a "Yankee." Or so he was always told by his mother and father when we'd visit them every now and then.

We also wondered how they made out with the movers NYC they'd hired, as in did everything go O.K. for their move down south? They told us that everything went so well it was absolutely amazing to them. They only had one huge moving truck to worry about, though, as they bought all new furniture down in NC at the outlets.
