I have moved a lot since I used to be a child. Before I finished high school I had lived in eleven different houses and three different continents. Since going to school I have lived in a different house every year usually with relocation of long distances. I'm no stranger to furniture moving, packing boxes and packing my car until the wheel well touches the tire. When I used to be a kid my folks always hired moving services for any home relocation. This was always so much fun for me and my sister who knew all the boxes and packing materials would soon be used to form the ultimate box fort.
When I left the comfort and convenience of my parents home, moving around meant that I was my moving service. When you have cut off dates to be out of a house by or can't find any pals to help you move heavy furniture the quality of your work quickly lessens. I would like to say that my furniture and things look the same after each move but in fact there are scars and tears on my couches, damaged lamp shades and cracked mirrors from each move. I am really not a professional moving service, but after having moved from house to house I do understand the requirement for one.
For the last few years most of my furniture has come from thrift stores and hand me downs, but as I grow older and my furniture and possessions get nicer, the requirement for specialized movers is more important than before. When I lived at my elder's house, they were partial to collecting antiques and always had a hard time when the removals were required. Experienced home removal professionals were contracted to pack the antiques in special crates. I can only conceive how those antiques would look if I had been the contracted help.
The requirement for expert movers is obvious when it comes to home moving but there are several other occasions when expert movers are obligatory. Office relocation always demand a gang of moving consultants to get furniture, gear and sometimes machinery from location to location. I have been involved with office removals while working with an upstart sports company. We rented a truck and crossed our fingers. One week later with sore backs, one or two journeys to a storage center and a large deal of scratches on the wagon we had moved an office of half a dozen. Office removals plainly stated are not cheap. We may have contracted a group of movers to get the office moved in one day and not had to pay for the scratches on the truck.
Next time you are relocating hire an expert to do the work so you and your staff can work on the bigger picture things that come with relocating.
