A Lifetime

By David Biondolillo

It is amazing what can happen in one lifetime.

My grandma was born in the late 1880's. She had to go by boat because the plane hadn't been invented yet. And before she died a man had walked on the moon.

For many thousands of years folks lived and died within a circle with a little radius. I'm absolutely certain we all had relatives that never traveled more than 30 miles from where they were born, unless you are descended from somebody like Marco Polo.

When I was younger and auto odometers where mechanical, my pals and I would love to watch the numbers turn to something cool, like the change from 9,999 to 10,000. We are quickly approaching the time when the wheels that keep control of the planet's population turn from 6,999,999,999 to 7,000,000,000. Seven ,000,000,000 people on the planet. A number that is tough to fathom.

Here is a way to think about how gigantic a 1,000,000,000 is. If I were to offer you a greenback a second, how long would it take to give you 1,000,000 dollars? Answer: 11 days. Now if I were to offer you a dollar a second, how long would it take to give you a bln greenbacks? Answer: 32 years. So there is a big difference between 1,000,000 and a 1,000,000,000.

When I was younger I don't remember ever hearing the word 1,000,000,000 like I do now. And today the word trillion is thrown out there all the time every day. Can you think how large that number is? I can't. What a different world.

And the planet's population is being made from a completely different demographic than any time in history. With states controlling births, like China has an one child rule, there are less people being born. And with the medical industry helping folks to live longer we are seeing a very different stratification of the populace. There are fewer young people and a lot more old folk than previously.

We are just living longer. And due to that we are experiencing many shifts in the way the world has to align to this phenomenon. One massive concern is how the older group is going to pay its way until they die. Folk in their eighties were born in the 3rd decade of the 20thCentury. Not so many people born then believed that they would live so long and did not prepare for what is happening in the modern day world. If you were born in 1920 you might expect to live into your mid 50's.

There are a lot of individuals that don't have a retierment or cash saved for their old age that are wondering what they are about to do. And it is not just the octogenarians (the eighty somethings) that are having these issues. Folk in their 40s on up are not prepared for extended living and the economic crisis that is happening now in the world. That is why I selected to move to Rosarito Beach, Mexico. I am able to live comforable withouth the day by day pressure of the big city.

I heard somebody say as they were addressing the graduating class of a California University, "you are all presidents of your own corporations. Everybody on earth is too. How is your company doing?" What an extreme statement. Imagine a world where everyone took charge of their own future and worked to building their own companies that could sustain themselves. Where each exchange was a "Win-Win-Win". The 3 "Wins" are where both parties and the planet all won. It may occur in one lifetime.

Are you prepared to become the president of your own company? If the answer is "YES" then you and I want to talk.
