Give Your Car Protection With Car Insurance

By Amy Norman

Auto insurance in general, which includes car insurance is an insurance consumers can purchase for cars, trucks, and other vehicles. With auto insurance, you can be sure that you will be protected from losses from car theft or accidents. This can also include losses from natural calamities. To have your car insured is mandatory by law. You will get a policy when you get auto insurance, and it will be based on factors like what type of car you drive, what insurance you want, etc. Their classification are:

The liability. This type of coverage will pay for the accidental physical injuries of the body and the damages to other people's property. Injury damages would include the medical bills, pain, and lost wages. Property damage includes damages to the automobile. This coverage also pays for defense and court costs. The state laws fix how much liability coverage you must have, but you can have more if you want.

The Collision. This will pay for the damages to your car caused by collision with another car or object.

Comprehensive. This coverage will take care of any damages or losses to your vehicle that isn't caused by an accident. The possible types of damages comprehensive insurance covers include loss caused by fire, wind, hail, flood, vandalism or theft.

Medical Coverage. Pays medical expenses regardless of whose fault it was as long as the expenses are caused by an auto accident.

PIP Also known as Personal Injury Protection. This coverage pays medical expenses for the insured driver, regardless of whose fault it was, for treatment due to injuries arising in an auto accident.

An Uninsured Motorist. This will pay for the car's damages when the auto accident is caused by another driver who does not own liability insurance.

The Underinsured Motorist. This would take care of your car's expenses from damage from an auto accident that's caused by a person who doesn't have enough liability insurance.

Rental Reimbursements. This will pay for a rental car if your rented car is damaged from an auto accident. Often this coverage has a daily allowance to be paid for at the time of renting a car.

Certain insurance policies club together a number of these types of coverage. Depending on the laws that exist in your state you have to choose the insurance you want for your car. Some states don't require extensive insurance, but having extra coverage can benefit you, since you will never know what you'll encounter in the future.
