3 Advantages of Dividend Investing

By Timmy Morre

There are some nice advantages of investing into dividend stocks for the long term. This is especially true if you invest into strong stocks that just so happen to pay out a nice dividend to their investors. Here are the three main benefits of investing into dividend paying stocks.

1. Easy Way to Invest

There isn't much to this strategy. All you really have to do is to get into some stocks or ETFs that are paying out a monthly dividend and are stable. You don't have to be very experienced to do this, as long as you have some extra money and a little bit of time to get everything set up there really isn't too much to do.

2. You Can Plan Your Potential Return on Investment

Another great thing about investing into dividend stocks is that you roughly know how much you can make off of it. If a stock has an 8% yield that means you would expect to get 8% of your money back every year in the form of dividends.

By looking at a stock's dividend yield ratio you can decide what kind of a return you are looking for and invest into stocks that pay it. Does it always work out like planned? No, but at least it gives you an idea of what to expect.

3. Passive Income

The majority of investments out there will not bring in a consistent monthly cash flow. Instead the majority of investments out there will only grow your money over the long term. Well if you invest into the right stocks you can have both cash flow and future growth.

While dividend investing is not for everyone it can be pretty rewarding. If you have some money lying around and would like to turn it into cash flow this is one of the best ways to do it. It is fast and easy and as long as you get into stable companies it works.
