A Concise Overview To The Picturesque Community Of Redlands

By Mike Johnson

Redlands is a city in southern California set in the San Bernardino Valley and home to over 60,000 people. It is one of the most picturesque places to live in the world and is widely regarded as a truly magnificent city. While it was originally nicknamed the jewel of the Inland Empire it is still well-known as one of the most preeminent cities in the area, and continues to attract new visitors and residents every year.

There is so much history and the culture in the area, and much of it is preserved within the city itself through two museums. This is an area that is particularly hospitable to artists, and also an area that values its heritage and tends to do whatever it can to preserve its history and communicate its cultural contributions to the next generation. If art or culture is something that you value this might be a good city for you.

One of the aspects of the city that tends to attract many new people is the thousands of Victorian homes that line the calm, palm-treed streets. These manors and mansions were originally built as winter homes for some of the wealthiest citizens in the United States, who flocked to the area during its original inception and founding in the early part of the twentieth century. These homes remain very much in tact to this day and are a big draw even still for the more affluent citizens of the region.

When you come to Redlands you'll discover that there is something in this city for virtually everyone. No matter what age you are you'll find a way to delight in the beautiful mountains that surround the city, and in the many parks and recreational activities that abound in the area. If you're a college-age student, you'll find one of the state's most respected post-secondary institutions, offering a totally exceptional educational experience for anyone who is up for it.

Real estate in this city comes in all shapes and sizes. Of course there are the restored communities which tend to fetch the largest prices, but if you haven't yet made your fortune there are still plenty of start-up homes and suburban communities for those who want to settle in and be a part of this gorgeous Southern California community. If you are looking for a new place to live, work and play this city very much could be the right one for you.
