Valencia is often known as the concealed jewel of the Mediteranean. It is a compact town of nearly 1 million people and Valencia has a striking architectural mixture of the old and modern which is reflected in the many styles of Valencia Property available. Valencia is a much cheaper and less tourist ridden version of Barcelona with the added advantage of better weather and it's also the most green town in south Europe thanks to an accident of history, the floods of the 1950's.
The floods meant a town redesign redirecting the river around the south of the town and then deciding what to do with the remaining riverbed. The result was an astounding city park of some 9km in length which nowadays begins at the Parque de la Cabecera which stands next to the new Bioparc Zoo and finishes down by the beach at the Malvarrosa passing through the shocking City of Arts and Sciences and much much more.
The riverbed encircles the Old City known as the Carmen meaning that wherever you are in the historical center you are never far from greenery and tranquility. The old city has been gradually restored, a technique which continues to this day, meaning that there are atmospheric areas full of classic covers and shady squares.
Valencia property for sale is a mixing pot of styles. The old fishermen's cottages in the Cabaal, the ultra modern studios overlooking the City of Arts and Sciences and the stunning facades of the Carmen old city, Ensanche and Ruzafa give an overpowering mixture of options when looking for apartments for sale in Valencia.
