Students looking for credit cards

There is much debate over credit cards these days. Some believe they bring more trouble than reward while others believe they are worth the risk for the many benefits they provide. There are several important things all college students need to understand before getting a credit card.

Interest rate: First of all, you want to find a credit card that has a low interest rate. As a student, your goal should be to find one under 15% Anything higher, it may be a problem if you don't plan on paying off your bills in full each month. So before making any purchases, shop around, do research and find an offer with the lowest interest rate.

Fees: You will find that there are several fees on some cards. Be sure to identify every fee the card has and do research to make sure you understand it completely.

Rewards: there are many different rewards a credit card might come with, these can be extremely helpful and even lucrative if used right. Whether you get cash back for every purchase you make or you get points for each dollar you spend, these are something you want to look out for. Do not purchase a credit card without some form of reward system. Every card will offer them and it is best to take full advantage of these offers!

Reviews: research is vital, especially considering this may be your first credit card. go out and see what other consumers have to say about the card, the rewards and the company. If people are talking bad about it and tell you why you should avoid it, listen to them. .

There are many cards out there offered to college students. But it is vital that you do plenty of research and find out which card is best for you. Be sure to use your future card wisely, and to consider everything we've talked about above before you apply for it!
