Coffee And The Concept Of Fair Trade Fundraisers

By Will Schlepinger

Almost everybody all over the world, as a matter of fact, is finding it more and more attractive to organize fundraisers. You wouldn't be reading this unless you have some experience of sorts with fundraisers, so you probably know that some will inevitably be more successful than others. However we would have to see the forest for the trees every now and then, and put all money-raising activities on the side to accurate evaluate how you stand.

This article deals with coffee fundraisers, one of the most successful types of fundraisers in the world so far. And you still ask why such events are so popular? This is because sensible people love sensible coffee, especially if it happens to be among the best brews in the world. It is estimated that over 200 million people in the United States alone drink coffee on a daily basis. In most cases, it would be a dollar a cup, so just consider the potential profit such an event could generate. It goes without saying that many organizations have, and continue to, tap into the coffee-drinking consumer market and enjoy the old-fashioned yet timely brew of financial success in due time.

Most of us do not want to mess with tradition, and the tradition of a cup of Java in the morning is something a lot of us don't want to part with when approached about coffee fundraisers. Believe it or not, but many people are that finicky about their coffee and the rituals that go with it. But when organizing a fundraising event, it will always be a challenge for organizers to have their would-be donors or volunteers do something different for a change. You have to appeal to their thoughtful side. Isn't that why it's called a charity event?

There have been some instances of coffee fundraiser success achieved through non-traditional means. These people have done away with the tired practice of giving impersonal boxes of coffee and instead have sold bags upon bags of Fair Trade Coffee. If you do not know what Fair Trade means, where have you been in that case? This is common knowledge to nonprofits worldwide, but Fair Trade is a movement designed to give farmers in third world countries their fair shakes for their labor and the products they harvest. This is a movement largely centered on protecting the environment and avoiding illegal or harmful farming practices while keeping economic progress in mind.

Life can be about being aware of those around us who need help, and it's a good thing that more Americans are caring as opposed to the past. The environmental movement has been going strong for decades now, and people have become both active and aware of the issues that affect citizens in America and beyond. These conditions create a wonderful opportunity for fundraisers, as we can give people an opportunity to support two wonderful causes, the Fair Trade movement and your organization!
