Switch To Environmentally Friendly Houses That Suit The Weather

By Micheal A. Warren

Almost everywhere people look nowadays, there is a building being constructed that follows the principles of eco friendliness as a match to the current environmental condition which are oftentimes on either extremes.

Creation of eco friendly structures calls for an alternative source of energy that eliminates excessive carbon gas generation such as solar panels.

With an eco friendly house, things run differently and demand for a whole new set of rules. It is aimed to provide a ventilation system that counteracts the extreme external weather. Therefore, those who live on the equatorial zone with constant heat need cooling systems but other than air conditioners that have harmful effects on nature.

To eliminate the need for air conditioning as well as artificial lighting, the building team must create a blueprint for a structure that has features to utilize the normal surroundings air and lighting.

This flourishing field of designing houses would have not been possible without the advocacy of Laurie Baker who said that people should "study and know local materials" to create cheap yet efficient buildings without wasting or immediately depleting natural resources. In addition to this, he advised people to stay away from such acts saying "don't rob national resources".

Baker gave a great deal of importance to the task to "study and know energy" for house design especially concentrating on the materials used but also on the aspect of transportation in people's way of living. "Get your conscience out of the deep freeze" is his way of telling architectures to support eco friendly cause.

The possibilities of creating residential houses are greater now more than ever as architects even study and specialize in this field. Even equatorial countries have such professionals to turn to.

In addition to all of these, eco friendly houses should also avoid overspending financial resources. Therefore, land area, no matter how big or small, should also be considered when creating the design.
