Differences In Remortgages And Mortgages.

By Morgan Morton

Mortgages are loans that people take out to buy a property, and remortgages are the changing from one mortgage provider to another, and these are both popular loans

Obviously remortgages are secured on property and as such are only available to those who own their property

Homeowners can frequently require a remortgage for various reasons.

In the past it was fairly common for a person to buy their first home , take out a mortgage with one lender and stay any make no changes to mortgages throughout the years which usually meant remaining with the exact same mortgage lender for twenty five years.

This happened whether the homeowner stayed at the same address or whether they moved house once or several times.

These days most people remortgage on each occasion that their mortgage deal finishes.

Sometimes a remortgage is only a means of getting a better rate of interest, and at other times taking out a remortgage is the way to obtain additional money for numerous reasons.

Getting mortgages or remortgages are certainly much easier than it used to be.

Before mortgage lenders were only willing to advance mortgages of three times the applicant's annual income .

As has always been the case, many mortgage applicants salaries are commonly made up of not only basic wages but also of overtime, commission, bonus, and so on.

In the old days mortgage lenders accepted little of this extra wages and were only prepared to take about a quarter of this.

The many mortgage providers were not willing to take the whole of a woman's earnings into account , as there could be shortage of income if she decided to stop work to start a family.

It is a different thing now as regards the income multiplier. Although this varies quite a bit from one mortgage lender to another the least income accepted is 3.25% and some lenders take up to five times the income.

A woman's income is s important in mortgages and remortgages applications as a mans.

What differs the position of women is that in the past many women gave up work for ever when they had children. These days the majority take a fairly short break between having a child and returning to work.

These are some of the factors that make obtaining a mortgage and remortgages easier than ever before.

The this shows the more important role that women holds in society these days.
