The Richest Countries In The World

By Jack Wogan

As you very well know, the planet offers an almost unlimited string of possibilities and resources. This means that basically all countries have a chance of becoming rich and well-developed, as long as they have the right perspective on things and the appropriate leaders. In the following article, you will be able to find some of the world's richest states, categorized by Gross Domestic Product (or GDP, as you will find it in some sources).

Firstly, there's Luxembourg, one of the smallest countries in the world, with a population of about a half a million, but a GDP of over 80,000 dollars. It is situated in Western Europe, alongside Belgium, France and Germany. This state has a very strong economy, thanks to its low levels of unemployment, inflation and its high standard of living. The fact that it also has low taxes has lead to many multinational companies basing their headquarters within the region.

Secondly, there's Qatar, an Arab emirate situated on the homonymous peninsula, next to the Persian Gulf. Its favorable position has lead to this state being one of the world's greatest producers of both oil and natural gas. From a political point of view, it is an absolute monarchy, and has been one for almost two hundred years.

Thirdly, you should think of Norway, a Scandinavian state neighboring Finland, Sweden and Russia. The region has got a great deal of natural resources, ranging from oil to fresh water and forests. An interesting fact is that Norway is one of the few developed countries on the continent that does not belong to the European Union. Despite having an extremely high cost of living (more than 30% higher than that of the USA), its inhabitants are considered to be extremely happy.

Then, there's Kuwait, another state that is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It has the fifth largest oil reserves in the world and absolutely no government-imposed taxes, which means that most of the state's revenue comes from selling oil. It has an extremely low unemployment rate, thanks to the many public works projects supported by the authorities.

As a conclusion, as nice as it may be to live in one of these very rich countries, you ought to remember that location is not all that matters if you want to be wealthy yourself. There are also other things you could do, like investing in gold or other precious metals, which can bring you great amounts of revenue in the years to come.
