A hot stock being touted as having the potential of doubling soon is Microsoft. The company makes software for computer services internationally in entertainment, general services and in business. Famous for its simplification of the personal computer and the windows operating systems, Microsoft is said to be looking up again as it enters the world of phones that actually use windows software.
Cashing in on the billions that would be possible if windows software were installed on a cell phone, might be one reason why some advisors have been suggesting that Microsoft is a stock to buy and to hold onto. Well, on Sunday, February 13, 2011, news from Stephen Elop a Nokia CEO announced that Microsoft had won the bidding with Nokia to supply the phone manufacturer with its windows operating software program. This is significant news for both companies.
The news was enhanced by the additional insight provided by another Nokia executive, Jo Harlow, who had actual photographs of the proposed Nokia phone with Microsoft windows software installed. Jo Harlow also said that Nokia has plans to produce and to market the new phone with Microsoft windows installed this year. Nokia's stock fell on the news, because investors were unhappy with Nokia's choice of allegiance versus going with Google's Andriod operating system.
Seems that Nokia wants to get its share of the billions in new phones being manufactured with computer systems installed. More information is being given by Stephen Elop, himself, who claims that his previous relationship working for Microsoft had nothing to do with Nokia, his current employers, getting the contract against Google who had planned to give Nokia its Android technology.
Additionally, Stephen Elop said that Nokia looks forward to continuing its research and use of computer programs for their Nokia phones in the future and is contemplating profits in the billions from sales in its new Microsoft windows technology Nokia phone systems.
